4) Chicago Bulls targets who can help them win immediately

A target that is getting less and less talk in connection with the Bulls with the fourth overall pick in the draft lottery is the former USC Trojans standout freshman 6-foot-9 and 250 pound power forward/center Onyeka Okongwu. This former highly touted five-star recruit and Chino Hills, CA, native had a sensational freshman campaign at USC.

During the shortened 2019-20 college hoops season, Okongwu played in 28 games with the Trojans (all of which he started in). He averaged 16.2 points per game, 8.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.2 steals, and a whopping 2.7 blocks. And Okongwu shot 61.6 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 72.0 percent from the free-throw line.

There’s a lot of growing that Okongwu has to do in his game, but he shows a lot of potential. And in terms of the value that he brings to the table out of the gates, he’s very polished with his skill set on both ends of the floor in the paint. Okongwu hits the glass hard as an excellent rebounder, protects the rim with the best of them, and is a fundamental scorer down low.

The nearly 10.0 block percentage, 12.4 offensive rebounding percentage, and 6.7 offensive box plus/minus rating were just astounding numbers that Okongwu posted in college. The thought of what he could do in a frontcourt rotation along with center Daniel Gafford, power forward Lauri Markkanen, and center Wendell Carter Jr., is very potent.
