Chicago Bulls: 3 international prospect deep sleepers to target in draft
A very potent way to look for the Chicago Bulls new front office regime in the 2020 NBA Draft is with the deep international pool of prospects.
Heading into the night of the 2020 NBA Draft, planned to take place on Nov. 18, the Chicago Bulls and newly hired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas have two key picks to help the future of this rebuild. And heading into the fourth year of the rebuild, Karnisovas and the Bulls need to still upgrade the roster and bolster this young core.
To get that done, the Bulls hold the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery. Karnisovas and the Bulls caught a nice stroke of luck to land the fourth overall pick in the draft lottery, jumping up three spots in the odds order. This will be the first time that the Bulls aren’t picking seventh overall in the draft lottery in more than three years.
The other pick that the Bulls hold in the 2020 draft (outside of the fourth pick in the lottery) is the original Memphis Grizzlies 44th slot in the second round. Since the former front office regime of John Paxson and Gar Forman actually found a lot of value in the second round of the 2019 draft, picking the former Arkansas Razorbacks center Daniel Gafford 38th overall, there’s hope that the upgraded duo of Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley can pull off a similar feat this year.
But the Bulls will really have to do their homework to find more value in the second round of the draft. It’s not every day that you get a gem in the second round like Gafford. Maybe the Bulls can dip into the international pool to find an answer with their 44th pick.
Here’s a look at three deep sleepers among the international pool of prospects in this draft class that the Bulls can look into ahead of Nov. 18.
