4) Free agents for Karnisovas, Chicago Bulls to look beyond: Andre Drummond

The accolades that the former Detroit Pistons and current Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond are very impressive through his NBA career thus far. Drummond is a two-time NBA All-Star selection, 2015-16 All-NBA Team selection, and a four-time rebounding champ. There’s a good chance that, when it’s all said and done, Drummond could be the best rebounder in NBA history.

But the sizable 6-foot-10 and 280 pound big man out of the UConn Huskies hoops program is likely going to command a large price tag in free agency. The former ninth overall pick of the Pistons in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft does have a player option that he can pickup, for a little bit more than $28 million for the 2020-21 season.

If Drummond does pickup his player option, it’s anyone’s best guess as to what price tag he’ll command either in the trade or free agent market heading into next year. He does still have a lot of value on the open market, but he might not with the plethora of stars available in the fruitful free agent class of 2021.

Drummond played in 57 games during the shortened 2019-20 regular season between his time with the Pistons and Cavaliers (starting in all but one of them). He averaged 17.7 points per game, 15.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.6 blocks. And Drummond shot 53.3 percent from the field, 14.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 57.5 percent from the free-throw line.
