4) Most efficient defenders in Chicago Bulls history: Joakim Noah

At least in the modern era, the most well known tough defender that the Bulls boasted was the current Los Angeles Clippers veteran center and former Florida Gator Joakim Noah. This two-time NBA All-Star selection, three-time All-Defensive Team selection, one-time All-NBA Team selection, and 2013-14 Defensive Player of the Year was an absolute force for the Bulls down low for roughly a decade.

Noah was the ninth overall pick of the Bulls in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft. He stuck around in the Windy City for nine years until the he wound up landing with the New York Knicks. Since landing with the Knicks prior to the start of the 2016-17 season, Noah has also played in brief stints with the Memphis Grizzlies and Clippers.

In the nine seasons that Noah played for the Bulls in the regular season, he averaged 9.3 points per game, 9.4 rebounds (6.1 of them on defense), 3.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.4 blocks. And he registered a 100 defensive rating, 2.2 defensive box plus/minus, 57.3 defensive win shares, 3.6 block percentage, 1.5 steal percentage, and 23.0 defensive rebounding percentage.

Noah also registered a 1.8 defensive box plus/minus rating and 102 defensive rating in 60 playoff contests with the Bulls.

In most defensive categories (especially among the advanced metrics), Noah ranks among the top 10 in franchise history. He is also one of the few players in the history of the Bulls franchise that has won a Defensive Player of the Year award. His post presence and pure effort is unmatched by most any other big man in franchise history.
