2) Chicago Bulls draft night trade chips: Tomas Satoransky
Yet another 2019 free agent signing on the current Bulls roster, the lengthy 6-foot-7 combo guard Tomas Satoransky, should still hold a good amount of value on the trade block. He’s only guaranteed one more year of the life of his current contract. Sato has two years left on his contract heading into the 2020-21 season (due around $10 million each year).
And he is only guaranteed half of that salary in the final year of the current, during the 2021-22 season. His contract is pretty team-friendly, and could attract some contenders if the Bulls were to shop him on draft night. He was brought over to the Bulls in a sign-and-trade deal with the Washington Wizards last offseason.
It feels like the Bulls and Sato both could just start over by going their own separate ways. Sato was solid for the Bulls out of the gates last season. But his efficiency and per game stats waned in the final months of the 2019-20 campaign. He played in all 65 games for the Bulls during the 2019-20 regular season (starting in all but one of them).
He averaged 9.9 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks. And Sato shot 43.0 percent from the field, 32.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 87.6 percent from the free-throw line. The versatile offensive skill set and usually spot-on shooting of Sato is something that would draw the interest of a lot of teams around the NBA this offseason.
