1) Chicago Bulls mid-level exception free agent targets: Justin Holiday

The lone former Bulls player on this list that the new front office regime could target with their mid-level and/or tax payer exception is the Indiana Pacers veteran wing Justin Holiday. The 31-year-old 6-foot-6 and 180 pound former Washington Husky and shooting guard/small forward had one of his most efficient seasons in the NBA to date during the 2019-20 campaign with the Pacers.

A return to the Windy City would mean that Holiday is reunited with the team that he’s played the most regular season games for in his NBA career so far. He’s now played for a whopping seven different teams in his NBA career. The only four teams that he’s played in more than 50 regular season games with are the Bulls, Pacers, New York Knicks, and Golden State Warriors.

During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, Holiday played in 73 games with the Pacers (just six of which he started in). And he averaged 8.3 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.6 blocks. Holiday shot 42.8 percent from the field, a solid 40.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 79.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Considering the gaping need that the Bulls have in the rotation to add a three-and-D wing, adding Holiday would be huge to fill depth in the free agent market. He made just shy of $5 million during the 2019-20 season with the Pacers, but is set to hit the unrestricted free agent market. The Bulls could probably get him for well under $6 million if there’s not many suitors after his services.
