The Chicago Bulls have a lot of roster decisions to make among their younger guards that are impending free agents this offseason.
In a really interesting piece from K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago on Oct. 23, the players (sorted out from one through 15) that are most likely to return for the Chicago Bulls were ranked out. At the very top of the list (as the player least likely to return) according to Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago is the former Tulsa Golden Hurricane combo guard Shaquille Harrison.
After Harrison, other impending free agent guards from the Bulls such as shooting guard Denzel Valentine (No. 3) and point guard Kris Dunn (No. 4). Even players that could potentially traded away this offseason, such as veteran forward Thaddeus Young (No. 2) and center Luke Kornet (No. 5), were up high on the list.
This is an interesting take from Johnson since he ranked Young as more likely to be off the Bulls roster heading into next season than the likes of the impending restricted free agent Valentine. If I had to pick any of the players on the current Bulls roster that I wouldn’t expect to return next season, Valentine might be at the top. But Johnson felt differently here, and gave pretty much no chance to Harrison returning next season in the Windy City.
How does a list like this look from a different point of view? There are certainly varying opinions on who should be back, and who shouldn’t, for the Bulls heading into next season.
Here’s a look at a ranking of the Bulls players that are sitting on the trade block or are impending free agents in order of who should return next season.
