Which looming free agents could the Chicago Bulls go after that would be natural fits with newly hired former OKC Thunder head coach Billy Donovan.

We’re a little less than 24 hours away from the official start of this cycle of free agency, which will be the first meaningful roster changes for the Chicago Bulls for more than six months. We will finally get to see what initial roster changes the new look front office personnel and coaching staff have for this Bulls team heading into the fourth year of the rebuild.

Where the Bulls go from here is completely dependent on the outlook for this rebuild of newly hired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley. Karnisovas takes over as the lead voice in the front office for the demoted (now a senior advisor) John Paxson and Eversley takes over in place of Gar Forman.

Another significant hire that the Bulls made earlier in the offseason, officially back on Sep. 22, was the addition of former Oklahoma City Thunder and Florida Gators hoops head coach Billy Donovan. After posting a record of 39-84 in his two years as the Bulls head coach, Jim Boylen was replaced by a proven winner in Donovan.

A lot of what the Bulls do in this cycle of free agency is likely to be dependent on how Karnisovas and Eversley want to piece this roster around Donovan’s schemes and team culture. There needs to be more unification in the locker room and chemistry among these players heading into next season. And the fit just has to be better than it was in the last two seasons under Boylen.

Here’s a look into three potential free agent targets for the Bulls that could fit really well with Donovan.
