Chicago Bulls: 3 veteran stars to pursue in free agency
Turning to a potential star signing in the free agent market this offseason is a move that is hard to argue with for the Chicago Bulls new management.
An enormous opportunity exists for the Chicago Bulls to revamp their current roster at hand during this looming cycle of free agency, which starts in just two days, this offseason. The Bulls have already done their best to revamp the likes of the front office, coaching staff (still largely a work in progress among the assistant coaches), and scouting department.
As the Bulls continue to work through this tumultuous 2020 offseason, it looks like this rebuild is more and more promising heading into its fourth year. But so much of the outlook for next season will hinge on how the Bulls reshape their roster through the trade market, free agency, and the NBA Draft Lottery.
The Bulls largely lucked out by getting the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery, jumping up three spots in the odds. Yet, since there’s no slam dunk in this draft class even in the top five there’s no easy solution for the Bulls management for what to do with the fourth overall pick.
A safe area with the most promise for the Bulls to continue to move in the right direction this offseason is building up through this cycle of free agency. No one impending free agent target this offseason sticks out for the Bulls, so the likes of newly hired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley will have to get creative with who they go after.
And with this cycle of free agency starting this weekend, specifically on Oct. 18, the time is almost officially here when the Bulls can start making any of their planned signings. Here’s a look at three veteran standout free agents that the Bulls could realistically pursue once this cycle begins this weekend.
