2) Lakers free agents for Chicago Bulls to pursue: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Two of the three Lakers impending free agents would be very realistic for the Bulls to pursue this offseason to fill various positional and locker room needs for this team. Morris would bring that versatile offensive veteran that adds grit to the frontcourt rotation, and the 6-foot-5 and 205 pound shooting guard/wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope could add valuable depth in the rotation where the Bulls need it most.

KCP certainly had his ups and downs while playing alongside LeBron over the course of the last two seasons. But he ended the second year as a LeBron teammate on a high-note, with a very good run through the playoffs. He started in all 21 playoff games for the Lakers this year. And KCP averaged 10.7 points per game, 2.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.2 blocks.

He shot 41.8 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 81.5 percent from the free-throw line.

In the 2019-20 regular season, KCP played in 69 games for the Lakers (26 of which he started in). And he averaged 9.3 points per game, 2.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks. KCP shot 46.7 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The defensive ability and off-ball awareness of KCP on both ends of the floor really stuck out during the Lakers playoff run. KCP is a solid two-way wing that would help to fill a massive depth void in the rotation on the wing. He’s also got a much cleaner injury history than the likes of Otto Porter Jr. or Chandler Hutchison; the top two wings on the current Bulls roster.
