2) Chicago Bulls trending up after workouts: Coby White

In a report from K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago from earlier this week, it sounds like two of the most impressive Bulls players in this young core out of group workouts were the rookie point guard Coby White and power forward Lauri Markkanen. The former of those two players might be the most significant part of this young core heading into next season.

Former North Carolina Tar Heels 6-foot-5 volume scoring guard White had a really solid finish to his rookie season. The 2019-20 regular season really ended just as White was starting to heat up and find his groove. He was the final Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month when all 30 teams were actually playing during the 2019-20 season. He got those honors back in February.

White also received 2019-20 NBA All-Rookie Second-Team honors. Since this was such a good rookie class at the guard positions, White getting those honors is really impressive.

Throughout the entirety of his rookie campaign, White averaged 13.2 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.1 blocks. He shot 39.4 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 79.1 percent from the free-throw line.

White also looked good in what we saw out of him in various videos and highlights from group workouts. Any signs that he can continue the momentum he found down the stretch during his rookie campaign is a very positive thing for White this offseason.
