The brief but significant stint for the Chicago Bulls in training camp/voluntary group workouts gave this young core a chance to get some much needed work.

The “Delete Eight” (a.k.a. the bottom eight teams in the NBA that didn’t make the restart in the bubble at Disney World to round out the 2019-20 season) just wrapped up most of their portion of voluntary group workouts. And one of those teams that was a part of the “Delete Eight” this year that needed to have their best showing during voluntary group workouts/training camp was the Chicago Bulls. There’s a lot of change going on with the Bulls right now to everything outside of the roster construction.

The Bulls rounded up with a record of 22-43 through 65 games prior to the pause during the shortened 2019-20 regular season. That was good for them to finish up in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. And that placed them well outside the group of 22 teams around the NBA that were able to participated in the restart plan at the bubble in Disney World.

But getting into the restart is well behind the thought process for this Bulls organization heading into the fourth year of the rebuild. They have made a lot of seemingly positive changes to the front office, scouting department, and coaching staff to hopefully move this rebuild forward significantly heading into the 2020-21 season.

Next up for the Bulls is figuring out which pieces of the current roster are worth keeping around heading into next season. A lot of those decisions could be made with the information the front office and coaching staff now has from group workouts/training camp that wrapped up earlier this week.

Here’s a look at the three Bulls players that have their stock trending in the right direction following the short but important stint at voluntary group workouts/training camp.
