The retooling of the Chicago Bulls 15-man roster is about to begin this offseason, to make it fit best for newly hired head coach Billy Donovan.

The discussion surrounding how the hiring of former Oklahoma City Thunder and Florida Gators hoops head coach Billy Donovan can positively impact the Chicago Bulls heading into the 2020-21 season is really heating up. Donovan was hired to replace former Bulls head coach Jim Boylen back on Sep. 22, which was news that was met with a ton of overwhelmingly excited reactions from this fan base.

It also seems like the players are fans of the Donovan hiring, and where this rebuild could be going heading into its fourth year. The Bulls finished up with a record of 22-43, good for 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings, during the shortened 2019-20 regular season. That led Boylen to post a record of 39-84 over the course of his two years as the Bulls head coach.

Boylen originally took over for former Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg back in December 2018. He received a rather unwarranted three-year contract extension from John Paxson and Gar Forman last offseason. But the Bulls officially parted ways with Boylen back on Aug. 14, much to the delight of the fan base.

Now that the Bulls have largely retooled the front office and coaching staff so far this offseason, the roster construction would be the logical next step to take on. Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley made a few witty moves so far with the hiring of Donovan, and in the scouting department, so we’ll see what they do next.

Figuring out which players on the current roster do and don’t fit with the scheme they plan to use next season. Here’s a look at which players just don’t look like they fit with Donovan on the current Bulls roster.
