1) Chicago Bulls draft targets that can turnaround the rebuild: LaMelo Ball

The holy grail for a lot of teams at the top of this draft lottery in terms of prospects in this class is the 6-foot-7 and 185 pound 19-year-old lengthy point guard LaMelo Ball. This former short-lived member of the Illawarra Hawks in the NBL in Australia only played in a dozen games overseas before he had to come back to the states due to a lower-body injury.

LaMelo should be recovered by now, and it will be interesting to see how he interviews and works out across the board during the 2020 NBA Draft Combine process in the next few weeks. The Bulls should be following closely what he’s able to do at the combine. Since there’s an actual chance that he could fall far enough down draft boards to land with the Bulls, they should pay attention as close as possible to what he brings to the table for the rebuild.

There are clear strengths and weaknesses in LaMelo’s game. He’s definitely a top tier playmaker and scorer while driving the lane. He’s going to be a great facilitator and playmaker in the NBA. But the real question as far as his offensive skill set goes is how his game will play out in terms of outside shooting and shot creation from beyond 6-10 feet from the rim.

LaMelo would be an interesting fit for the Bulls alongside the likes of White and shooting guard Zach LaVine. In all likelihood, the Bulls drafting Ball would mean that one of those two sees the door out of Chicago in the next couple of years. Ball would be the type of point guard that the Bulls should hand a starting role to immediately as long as he shows out in camp.
