1) Will Barton trades with the Chicago Bulls

There should be a lot of value that other teams around the NBA, like the Nuggets, are able to derive out of the former Washington Wizards sizable 6-foot-7 combo guard Tomas Satoransky. Similar to Young’s situation, Sato just didn’t feel like a good fit in Chicago after about the first two months of the 2019-20 season.

Sato played in all 65 games for the Bulls during their shortened 2019-20 regular season (starting in all but one of them). He averaged 9.9 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Sato shot 43.0 percent from the field, 32.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 87.6 percent from the free-throw line.

This was also about the least efficient season as a whole in the NBA to date for Sato. He might also just need a change of scenery, and landing with the Nuggets would certainly put him on a contender in the Western Conference right away. He would be an interesting fit next to the likes of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Sato doesn’t have to command an overwhelming amount of usage, but he’s efficient and manages turnovers well when the ball is in his hands.

The Nuggets should see value in a Sato trade. And if they can also stack future draft capital and want to part ways with Barton any, this trade package makes a lot of sense. The Bulls also are pretty guard heavy in their rotation, and might want to continue to start point guard Coby White over Sato come next season.
