3) Chicago Bulls trade targets to watch in NBA Finals: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

The biggest glaring need that the Bulls have positionally to add to on the roster this offseason is on the wing. Currently all that the Bulls have at the three spot in the rotation is two often-injured small forwards. In particular, Otto Porter Jr. is a solid two-way wing, but he has only played in 29 total games over the course of about one and a quarter seasons with the Bulls. He’s also one of the most overpaid small forwards in the NBA today.

And then there’s former Boise State Bronco and third-year small forward Chandler Hutchison. The Bulls 22nd overall pick from the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft showed steady progress during the 2019-20 season, but not enough to inspire confidence that he’s even a solid second unit wing for the Bulls.

This is the reason why they need to find other ways to add depth to the wing rotation this offseason.

Where the Bulls could look in a realistic and justifiable manner with the Lakers is with the 6-foot-5 and 205 pound shooting guard/small forward Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. This 27-year-old former Georgia Bulldog and first round pick (eighth overall) of the Detroit Pistons in the 2013 NBA Draft is having a bounce back run in the playoffs so far.

KCP has started in all 15 games he’s played in thus far in his Lakers playoff debut. He’s averaged 9.9 points per game, 1.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.2 blocks. And he’s shot a solid 44.2 percent from the field, 42.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Those are numbers that should really be catching the eye of the Bulls front office and new look coaching staff.
