3) Chicago Bulls opponents Jordan torched offensively: Mark Price
For nearly all of his career in the NBA, the 6-foot and 170 pound Bartlesville, OK, native point guard and former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Mark Price played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Of the dozen years he spent in the NBA, Price spent nine of them playing in Cleveland. But he was originally the 25th overall pick in the second round of the Dallas Mavericks in the 1986 NBA Draft.
Price was a four-time NBA All-Star selection and four-time All-NBA Team selection during his run with the Cavaliers. There were also three seasons he spent with three different teams. The other three teams he played with included the Washington Bullets (now the Wizards), Golden State Warriors, and Orlando Magic.
Moreover, Price did give Jordan and the Bulls a run for their money on quite a few occasions in the 31 regular season meetings between the two former stars. Jordan and Price faced each other 31 times during the regular season, with 17 of them falling in the Bulls great shooting guard’s favor. And Jordan averaged a whopping 33.7 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 2.5 steals, and 0.9 blocks.
Jordan shot 52.6 percent from the field and 82.4 percent from the free-throw line in those 31 tries in the regular season against Price. And it only got better for Jordan against Price in the playoffs.
In 19 games played in the playoffs against Price, Jordan averaged 37.3 points per game, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists. He shot 49.8 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 86.5 percent from the free-throw line.
