Since the Chicago Bulls hired former Florida Gators and OKC Thunder HC Billy Donovan to replace Jim Boylen, what players could they reunite with him?

The Chicago Bulls added more big headlines to the coaching carousel this week when they hired Billy Donovan (formerly of the Oklahoma City Thunder) to replace Jim Boylen as their next head coach. Donovan was hired by the Bulls back on Sep. 22, a little more than one month after management parted ways with Boylen (originally back on Aug. 14). This was an abrupt coaching hire that came much sooner than originally anticipated.

It sounds like Arturas Karnisovas was ecstatic about the possibility of hiring Donovan after the Thunder surprisingly parted ways with him. The Bulls scooped up Donovan well under a month after the Thunder let him go. Donovan wrapped up his coaching tenure with the Thunder, over the course of five seasons, with a solid regular season record of 243-157 (.609 winning percentage).

The lack of playoff success and the Thunder likely vaulting themselves into a full blown rebuild in the near future are two reasons backing the departure of Donovan. But the Thunder’s loss is the Bulls’ gain in this regard. There’s a lot that can be done for both the construction of the coaching staff and the roster from past trends that go with Donovan.

Here’s a look into three former Florida basketball players that would be good a good fit with Donovan and the Bulls that the team should look into pursuing.
