3) Why Deni Avdija is perfect fit with Chicago Bulls: Roster Fit

It goes without saying that the Bulls need help on the wing. Thaddeus Young is 32 years old. Assuming he picks up his player option, Otto Porter Jr.will return, but his injury history could keep him off the court for much of 2021. Porter only appeared in 14 of the Bulls’ 65 games last season with a left foot injury.

Plenty of questions still surround 2018’s 22nd overall pick Chandler Hutchinson, and Denzel valentine trade rumors swirled around the deadline with the Bulls reportedly trying to move the sharpshooter. Dani Avdija would present a new clean slate on the wing for the Bulls.

Slotting in at the 3 alongside Markannen and Carter Jr. in the front court would give the Bulls diversity, spacing, and ball movement to big men that seemed stagnant last season. His playmaking abilities will also slot in well next to scorer LaVine and defensive wall Kris Dunn, who’s talents are not tailored to playmaking like is.

As great as Porter Jr. and Denzel Valentine are at creating space on the perimeter with their shooting, Avdija has the potential to do that and then some. Additionally, his 6-foot-9 height allows him to slot next to one of those wings in small ball lineups, if the Bulls choose to run those this season.

Overall, no matter what direction Chicago heads in when building their roster this offseason, Avdija would be a great fit alongside the team’s mainstays.
