Chicago Bulls: Michael Jordan getting involved in NASCAR with Bubba Wallace

Hall-of-Fame Chicago Bulls shooting guard and six-time NBA Champion Michael Jordan is teaming up with Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin in a NASCAR venture.

The former Chicago Bulls legendary shooting guard Michael Jordan is now getting himself involved in another line of business that he has not touched before. NASCAR is a big sport in North Carolina, especially in Charlotte, and Jordan is taking the challenge head on to add diversity to the mix and head up a new team. He’ll be starting a new team that will take effect in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series.

The team that Jordan is starting a team for next season’s cup series with Denny Hamlin, and their first driver will be Bubba Wallace. Hamlin is one of the better drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series, and he’ll now be moving on to take part in a new venture in the landscape of this sport.

This move by Jordan really is a landmark occurrence in the recent history of the sport of NASCAR. Getting the star and celebrity power that Jordan brings to the table, and the added diversity of he and Wallace teaming up, should do big things for the sport and its growth.

Wallace currently sits at 22nd in the NASCAR Cup Series standings, but he’s a rising talent in this motorsport. He had 16 points, which ranked well behind the Cup Series standings leader Kevin Harvick. To round out the top three in the Cup standings, Kyle Busch had 54 points and Erik Jones was well behind him with 36. Harvick posted 57 to win.

Jordan will be jumping on what will be one of the more intriguing teams to watch in the next NASCAR season. This is also a move that signals the continuance of Jordan expanding his business ventures into other sports and industries as a whole.

Well into his 50’s, Jordan does not look to be slowing anytime soon. This has also been a big year for Jordan in and away from the game of basketball, between getting the third overall pick with the Hornets in the draft lottery, winning an Emmy with “The Last Dance”, and now buying into the NASCAR sphere.
