2) Chicago Bulls players with a lot to prove in group workouts: Shaquille Harrison

As one of the three major guards that the Bulls have a looming contract decision for this offseason, 6-foot-4 defensive standout combo guard and former member of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Shaquille Harrison needs to do all he can to prove his worth to get back on the roster next season. The Bulls could really use someone that brings the type of efficiency to the table that he did down the stretch last season too.

The other two guards that the new look Bulls front office regime has looming contract decisions for are the 6-foot-4 former Providence Friars point guard Kris Dunn and 6-foot-4 former Michigan State Spartans shooting guard Denzel Valentine. But Harrison was actually the most efficient of these three as far as most advanced metrics go.

Harrison played in 43 games (10 of which he started) during the 2019-20 season. He averaged 4.9 points per game, 2.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.4 blocks. Harrison shot 46.7 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line. That amounted to a career-best 2.8 box plus/minus rating, .153 win shares per 48 minutes, and a 55.9 true shooting percentage.

Show out in involuntary group workouts, and Harrison will go a long way to proving to the Bulls new front office regime that he belongs in the Windy City over the long haul. The Bulls could really use a combo guard of his caliber, if he can keep a similar level of production and efficiency up in an increased role in the near future.
