Chicago Bulls: 3 players with a lot to prove in group workouts
The Chicago Bulls have group workouts starting up this week, and there need to be a few players with an extra chip on their shoulder.
With the way that the Chicago Bulls exited the 2019-20 regular season, once the hiatus was instilled in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic back in mid-March, it didn’t look good for the direction of this rebuild. The Bulls went into their de facto 2020 offseason with a lot to work on.
Heading into the fourth of the rebuild, there is more hope now than there was back in early spring. Nonetheless, optimism levels should still be cautioned heading into next season (whenever that time will arrive) since the Bulls finished off the 2019-20 regular season with a record of 22-43, good for 11th place in the final Eastern Conference standings.
Since mid-March, the Bulls have largely reshaped the personnel in the front office, scouting department, and the look of the coaching staff. The Bulls parted ways with former general manager Gar Forman completely, and demoted former vice president of basketball operations John Paxson to more of a senior advisor role.
Now former head coach Jim Boylen is also out of his former position with the organization. They are now in the midst of a coaching search to find the right one to lead this rebuild.
But early this week, the Bulls began the stage of the offseason with involuntary group workouts back at the Advocate Center in Chicago. This is the first time for organized group workouts for the Bulls since the pause due to the COVID-19 outbreak first began back in March. There’s a lot for a number of people within this organization to prove in the coming months, but which players should we zero in on in particular?
