1) Chicago Bulls free agent targets in the conference finals: Avery Bradley
One free agent target I’ve talked about before if the Bulls part ways with defensive stopper point guard Kris Dunn is the Lakers veteran guard Avery Bradley. After having a solid run with the Lakers during the 2019-20 regular season, prior to the pause back in mid-March, Bradley elected not to return with the team in the bubble at Disney World.
Bradley wound up playing in 49 games during the 2019-20 regular season with the Lakers (44 of which he started in). He averaged 8.6 points per game, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Bradley shot 44.4 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.
If the Bulls do part ways with any of the three following players in free agency this offseason: Dunn, shooting guard Denzel Valentine, and/or combo guard Shaquille Harrison, then they should look for other options like Bradley. He’s a solid defender and a good shooter that can fill a veteran role in the second unit off the bench.
If Bradley doesn’t return to the Lakers next season, and he’s still offered up at a value price for a short-term contract, then he should really be someone the Bulls look into in this cycle of free agency. He could fit multiple needs that could emerge for them in the backcourt rotation, depending on which guards they let walk this offseason.
