1) Chicago Bulls targets in a Thaddeus Young trade: Justise Winslow
A good trade target for the Bulls in a deal involving shipping Young out of Chicago, where they could hypothetically do a one-for-one (or include a few other smaller pieces to make things work out), is former Duke Blue Devils wing and Memphis Grizzlies small forward Justise Winslow. The Grizzlies haven’t got to see Winslow play in a single game with them since landing him in a trade this season from the Miami Heat.
The Grizzlies got Winslow in that trade deal that saw them ship off veteran wing Andre Iguodala to the Heat, to join the likes of former Bulls star shooting guard/small forward Jimmy Butler. Winslow will now be trying to push this promising Grizzlies team in the West that is building around rookie point guard Ja Morant and forward Jaren Jackson Jr.
But it is not out of the question that the Grizzlies would still be attempting to find what trades would be out there for Winslow. He carries a sizable contract, that is worth around $14 million per year. He hasn’t played in a single game this calendar year, and only got to see action in 11 contests in total during the 2019-20 season.
Winslow should realistically come back healthy and ready to go for whichever team he’s suiting up for next season. He’s spent the last 10 months or so recovering from a hip injury. Winslow averaged 11.3 points per game, 6.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.5 blocks. There’s the potential here for Winslow to be a three-and-D wing that adds depth for the Bulls behind Otto Porter Jr. at the small forward position.
