2) Chicago Bulls trades with Nets for LaVine:
This trade deal with the Nets also involves the Bulls getting LeVert to the Windy City, but the rest of the dynamic here is much different than the last hypothetical proposal on the list. What else the Bulls would be getting in this trade deal would help to form a partial sign-and-trade to land the sharpshooting wing Joe Harris.
Getting Harris at a set price to be guaranteed to land with the Bulls would be a good way for them to shore up the wing depth in the rotation. In the season that was for the Nets, Harris played in 69 regular season games (starting in all of them). He averaged 14.5 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.2 blocks.
Harris did that while shooting a stellar 48.6 percent from the field, 42.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 71.9 percent from the free-throw line. Somehow Harris was just above a 70 percent free-throw shooter after being such a good shooter from downtown.
However, the Bulls getting both LeVert and Harris is all worth it, along with a 2020 second round draft pick from the Nets. The Bulls also get two unprotected future first round draft picks from the Nets. That would be the risky part of the trade, since the Nets would likely be a contender for at least the next two or three years.
Still that’s a key part of the deal that could ensure long term success for this rebuild.
