Which three 2020 NBA Draft prospects should the Chicago Bulls avoid if they were to trade down in the first round from the fourth slot?

A good amount of luck for the Chicago Bulls in the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery landed them the fourth overall pick, jumping up three spots in the odds. The Bulls finally got away from the seventh overall pick in the first round of the NBA Draft. In each of the last three NBA Drafts, the Bulls wound up picking seventh overall.

One of those seventh overall picks came by way of the Jimmy Butler trade back during the 2017 offseason with the Minnesota Timberwolves, which effectively began the rebuild the Bulls are currently still in. With the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the Bulls snagged former Arizona Wildcats power forward Lauri Markkanen.

Then, the Bulls landed the seventh overall pick in the draft lottery on their own in the next two years. In the 2018 draft, the Bulls snagged former Duke Blue Devils potent center Wendell Carter Jr. seventh overall. And then last year, the Bulls got former North Carolina Tar Heels volume scoring point guard Coby White with the seventh pick.

This year, the Bulls have a plethora of options at their disposal for what to do with their first round draft pick. Former Denver Nuggets general manager and newly hired Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas could trade down, keep the pick, or try and trade up with a team like the Golden State Warriors to get the second overall slot.

If someone like former Georgia freshman shooting guard Anthony Edwards or Illawarra Hawks 6-foot-7 point guard LaMelo Ball manages to fall to the Bulls at fourth overall, then they should take them without a doubt. But there is also an option to try and snag another prospect that falls down draft boards.

On the contrary, here’s a look into three NBA Draft prospects that the Bulls should avoid targeting if they traded down in the first round.
