3) Draft sleepers the Chicago Bulls could trade down for: Tyler Bey

The Colorado Buffaloes are losing maybe their best piece of last year’s team, as their former star 6-foot-7 and 220 pound Las Vegas, NV, native and junior shooting guard/small forward Tyler Bey heads into the 2020 NBA Draft. The two-time All-PAC 12 First-Team selection, 2019-20 PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Year, and 2018-19 PAC-12 Most Improved Player of the Year, is one of the more underrated wings in this draft class.

It’s hard to tell where Bey will fall in this draft, but he should be guaranteed to fall at some point in the first round. Maybe he could slip up into the lottery picks if there’s a lot of buy in for what he brings to the table as a three-and-D wing. Bey really showed a lot of improvement in a number of areas of his game in the season that was for the Buffs.

In 31 games played last season for Bey with Colorado, he averaged 13.8 points per game, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.2 blocks. He shot a stellar 53.0 percent from the field, a much-improved 41.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 74.3 percent from the free-throw line. That amounted to a career-best 10.1 box plus/minus rating, .228 win shares per 40 minutes, and a 61.1 true shooting percentage, during the 2019-20 season.

Bey is an excellent two-way wing that has an impressive offensive arsenal, and is smart with the ball in his hands. But he definitely isn’t known for his distributing ability. He posted a turnover rate above 17.0 percent last season, and only about a 12.0 percent assist rate. Most of the other areas of Bey’s game would be a great fit for this Bulls rotation at a position of need.
