3) Former NBA coaches that could be next Chicago Bulls HC: Dave Joerger

The former Sacramento Kings head coach Dave Joerger is one of the more intriguing forgotten NBA coaches that is on the open market at the moment. While there’s a good chance that Joerger is passed over for a lot of the bigger jobs that opened around the NBA this year, he does deserve another shot after his stint with the Kings ended.

Joerger actually had the Kings on the up and up prior to getting canned last year. The Kings parted ways with him in favor of former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton, which has yet to workout well for that organization. If there was any move that made sense for the Kings at the time, it was continuing to build up this young roster with Joerger at the helm.

But maybe the Bulls can be a team that benefits from the Kings missteps in the past. Joerger finished up his run as the Kings head coach with a record of 98-148. Purely in terms of overall record, Joerger did have a more successful stint prior to landing the Kings head coaching job, when he held the same position with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Joerger made the playoffs in all three seasons where he was the Grizzlies head coach. He rounded up his tenure in Memphis with a record of 147-99 (.598 winning percentage) in the regular season and 9-13 (.409 winning percentage) in the playoffs. The main problem for him with the Grizzlies was the lack of postseason success in his three years there.
