Chicago Bulls: 3 underrated trade targets that fit well with Karnisovas
1) Chicago Bulls trade targets that fit well with Karnisovas: Jordan McRae, Guard
Potentially the most unheralded name on this list that the Bulls could go after to add depth in a key spot of the rotation is the Detroit Pistons 6-foot-5 and 180 pound shooting guard Jordan McRae. The 29-year-old Savannah, GA, native and Tennessee Volunteers product spent time with three different teams this season before landing with the Pistons to round it all out.
The other two teams that McRae played for in the season that was were the Nuggets and Washington Wizards. He started out the 2019-20 season with the Wizards, and then played in four games with the Nuggets, and four more with the Pistons to round it out. In total, he played in 37 games during the 2019-20 season (starting in four of them).
McRae averaged 11.5 points per game, 3.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.4 blocks. He shot around 41 percent from the field, 36 percent from beyond the arc, and 76.1 percent from the free-throw line. And he is around a 42 percent career shooter from the field, 78 percent from the free-throw line, and 36 percent from three-point range.
A decent defender, and good shooter than can create his own looks and facilitate the offense in the second or third unit in the Bulls rotation, McRae could be a very solid trade target. McRae is a restricted free agent this offseason, so the Pistons to control his offer sheet. If he hits the free agent market without a qualifying offer from the Pistons, that makes this situation pretty easy if they want to pursue McRae.
But if the Pistons do extend McRae a qualifying offer, then the Bulls should see what they could do about a potential sign-and-trade for a minimal amount sent in return.
