2) Bulls most tradeable contracts: Zach LaVine, Shooting Guard

As possibly the most tradeable contract overall that the Bulls have on the current roster, and the best overall player on the roster, 25-year-old shooting guard Zach LaVine could be in an interesting spot this offseason. The Bulls should be able to get a really good return if they were to move LaVine in a big splash trade deal.

But if LaVine sticks around, he should only continue to improve from here. Especially since the Bulls have made a lot of seemingly positive changes to the front office and coaching staff, it should only help LaVine’s usage and play, and the supporting cast that is put in place around him. That is all good news for both the Bulls and LaVine.

In what was nearly his first season with an All-Star selection, LaVine played in 60 games in a Bulls uniform (starting in all of them). He averaged 25.5 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks. LaVine shot 45.0 percent from the field, 38.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 80.2 percent from the free-throw line.

That amounted to a career-best 2.4 box plus/minus rating, 2.4 value over replacement player rating, .091 win shares per 48 minutes, 4.0 total win shares, and a 56.8 true shooting percentage. LaVine truly had his best season in the NBA to date, but he has to continue to show that he can be one of the faces of this rebuild moving forward.

If the Bulls do decide to trade LaVine, the $18 million he’s due annually on his current contract is not bad at all. Most teams would love to take that onto their cap sheet with what you get out of LaVine.
