In his run with the Chicago Bulls, forward Dennis Rodman wasn’t known as a scorer. LeBron already has more playoff points than he did in the regular season.

Basketball fans around the world should enjoy watching an all-time great and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James while we have the opportunity. LeBron obviously has caught a ton of criticism throughout his NBA career, but now should be the time that we rejoice and appreciate what he’s provided for the game of basketball around the United States and the globe. The same could’ve been said near the end of the run of legendary shooting guard Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls and even the Washington Wizards.

LeBron is currently trying to make a deep run in the playoffs with the Lakers, to potentially get the fourth ring of his NBA career to date. The other NBA Championships he won came with the Miami Heat (twice) and Cleveland Cavaliers (once). What LeBron would be doing that would be different from Jordan is the variety of teams with which he could win a ring.

However, there are a ton of accomplishments that legends like Jordan and LeBron already have to their names that enshrine them among the best to ever play this game. Jordan is a six-time NBA Champion, five-time MVP, and six-time NBA Finals MVP. Meanwhile, LeBron is a 16-time All-Star selection, four-time MVP, three-time NBA Finals MVP, three-time NBA Champion, and 15-time All-NBA Team selection.

The individual numbers and advanced metrics for both Jordan and LeBron are pretty insane two. Those numbers tend to prove that they are two of the best to ever play in the NBA. In one particular stat category, LeBron has really excelled. In terms of career playoff points, LeBron really stands out.

He has more than 7,000 career playoff points. That is more than a number of recognizable former Bulls players, including point guard Nate Robinson and Hall-of-Fame forward Dennis Rodman. Robinson registered 6,807 career regular season points in a decade-long NBA career. Meanwhile, Rodman registered 6,683 points in his 14-season long NBA career.

But Rodman did have nearly twice as many total rebounds in his career in the regular season as he did points (11,954 total rebounds).

Rodman was a great player in his own right, but scoring did not tend to be his forte. He was a tremendous defender, rebounder, and just overall pest that would be a nightmare matchup for a lot of opposing star forwards and wings.
