The Chicago Bulls got creative on social media on Aug. 25, amid the Lionel Messi-FC Barcelona rumors, with a post of him in with their jersey.
The Chicago Bulls once had likely the best player in NBA history winning them titles on a consistent basis, with all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan pushing a dynasty in the 1990’s. Over the course of the last 30 years, the NBA saw two of the best to ever play in the league show off their skills between Jordan and Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James.
In the world of soccer, the current equivalent to that of MJ or LeBron James to basketball would be either Juventes’ Cristiano Ronaldo or Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. But as the two aging stars are still producing at a high level, they are both definitely in the latter years of their soccer career.
Apparently one of those two global stars in the world of soccer wants out of his current club team. Messi reportedly wants out of FC Barcelona after they fell short in Champions League earlier this month.
In the second round of the Champions League, since the restart this summer, Barcelona was thoroughly embarrassed by German club Bayern Munich by the final score of 8-2. This was yet another struggle for Messi on the global scene. And that has become a common scene for his image, whether it be at the club or international level.
He has threatened to quit the Argentina national team on multiple occasions when they fall short in meaningful play.
But with Barcelona falling well short of the Champions League Final this year, before the eventual title holders Bayern Munich won it all, Messi looks to want out now. Barcelona is reportedly holding emergency meetings to find out what to do about this Messi situation.
The Bulls team Twitter page threw a bit of humor into the mix by showing Messi holding up a jersey with his name on the back.
FanSided threw up their own list of top landing spots for Messi following this news early in the week. Among the top landing spots mentioned for Messi were Premier League club Manchester City, Juventes, and French club PSG.
Messi is a four-time UCL Champion, six-time Ballon d’Or winner, 10-time La Liga Champion, and two-time UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award winner. He is one of the best to ever to it in the world, and the Bulls recognize how big of news this is that he wants out of Barcelona.
