Hopefully we’re not looking at the fourth year in a row where the Chicago Bulls get the seventh overall pick in the NBA Draft Lottery.

It is finally here. The biggest day of anything live happening in a while with any pertinence to the future of the Chicago Bulls rebuild heading into its fourth year. The 2020 NBA Draft Lottery has arrived on the evening of Aug. 20. The Bulls have their shot to move the rebuild in the right direction while the front office and coaching staff are undergoing pretty massive overhauls.

In terms of the front office, the overhaul is mostly complete as the former Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas took over for John Paxson as the lead voice. And former Philadelphia 76ers vice president of player personnel Marc Eversley took over for Gar Forman as the Bulls next general manager.

The Bulls also parted ways with now former head coach Jim Boylen earlier this month. They are currently in the midst of one of the more high-profile coaching searches in the past 18 months during lottery night.

When is the NBA Draft Lottery?

This year’s edition of the NBA Draft Lottery was pushed way back from its original date in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic. It was moved to just a few minutes from now, on Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m. CT.

The actual 2020 NBA Draft will occur on Oct. 16. And you can view the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery on ESPN and stream live on the WatchESPN app. You can also view it live on fuboTV here (subscription content).

What are the Bulls odds?

According to the Tankathon odds, the Bulls have the seventh best odds of getting the first overall pick in this draft lottery. This gives the Bulls a 7.5 percent chance of getting the first overall pick in the 2020 draft, and a 32.0 percent chance of landing in the top four.

The Bulls finished up the 2019-20 season with a record of 22-43, which was the seventh worst in the NBA and fifth worst in the Eastern Conference.

This also has the Bulls with a 19.7 percent chance of getting the seventh pick, 34.1 percent to get eighth, 12.9 to get ninth, and 1.3 to get 10th. There is definitely a better chance for the Bulls to land outside of the top seven than to land inside the top four.

What picks do the Bulls have in the 2020 draft?

The Bulls have the seventh best odds of getting the first overall pick in this draft lottery this year. But their lottery pick is yet to be decided until later tonight. The Bulls also do have the 44th overall pick in the second round of this draft, which they got from the Memphis Grizzlies.

Last year, the Bulls had the seventh overall pick (for the third year in a row) in the first round of the NBA Draft. They selected former North Carolina Tar Heels point guard Coby White with the seventh pick. In the second round, they had the 38th overall pick last year. With that pick, they snagged former Arkansas Razorbacks big man Daniel Gafford.
