3. Thaddeus Young, Forward

Still for the bulk of his career to date, Butler was a member of the Bulls. Meanwhile, the current Bulls veteran forward Thaddeus Young was not a member of this team for the bulk of his career. Instead, Young has turned into a career journeyman that has still spent most of his time in the Eastern Conference.

Young didn’t do great in his inaugural season in a Bulls uniform, but he was a valuable two-way forward at pretty much every other stop in his NBA journey before Chicago. The Indiana Pacers were a really good example of a divisional foe making the best out of Young’s versatility and two-way skill set.

Now having played with five different teams in his NBA career to date, Young is becoming more and more of a journeyman. He spent seven seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers, which is the bulk of his career. That’s also the team that Young spent much of his time playing against Butler with in the regular season and playoffs.

Young does hold a perfect 3-0 record against Butler in the playoffs, but it all came from that series where Derrick Rose was hurt against the Sixers back in 2012. But Butler holds a dominant 19-5 record over Young in the regular season. Butler averaged 16.4 points per game, 4.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks.

Meanwhile, Young averaged 14.0 points per game, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.7 blocks, in his 24 regular season tries against Butler.
