To replace the former Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen, Arturas Karnisovas should consider at least a few potential home run candidates.

At the moment, the most high-profile and biggest market job opening around the NBA is with the Chicago Bulls. Parting ways with now former head coach Jim Boylen brought about an opening that should’ve been there last offseason. But we’ll take it now that Boylen is out the door in the Windy City, and the new look front office can find a more conducive head coach to getting this rebuild going in the right direction starting next season.

The good news for the Bulls is that the coaching free agent market looks pretty good right now compared to last offseason. In some regard, the patience of the reshaped front office paid off this offseason. It wasn’t all that long ago that John Paxson was demoted in favor of the former Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas and Gar Forman let go in favor of former Philadelphia 76ers senior VP of player personnel Marc Eversley.

The official title for Karnisovas will be executive VP of basketball operations, and Eversley is the next general manager.

Hopefully they will make the right decision with the next head coaching hire. There is little doubt that GarPax made two wrong decisions in a row for the Bulls past head coaching hires in Boylen and Fred Hoiberg. GarPax didn’t even attempt to conduct a coaching search after parting ways with Hoiberg early in the 2018-19 season.

Now is the right time for the Bulls to step up and finally get this rebuild going in the right direction. And one of the better spots they can look to find the next head coach is with former NBA head coaches and up and coming assistants with other teams in recent years. There’s nothing like the surety of proven coaching experience to make the right hire this time around.

Here’s a look at three possible home run hires the Bulls should try and snag to be their next head coach.
