Chicago Bulls: 3 players Derrick Rose consistently dominated
1. Roy Hibbert, Center
The final name on this list was also a player that spent most of his playing days in the NBA in the Central Division. The former Pacers defensive stopper big man Roy Hibbert really hit a wall at the end of his run with the Pacers. Hibbert used to be one of the NBA’s best rim protectors, until he hit a wall in the early-to-mid 2010’s.
In his run with the Pacers, Hibbert was a two-time NBA All-Star selection and a one-time All-Defensive Team selection. Until he did hit that aforementioned wall during the 2013-14 season, Hibbert was one pace to be the Defensive Player of the Year award winner. But that downfall seemingly out of nowhere that for Hibbert knocked out his chances for those honors.
In more than 650 career regular season games played, Hibbert averaged 10.0 points per game, 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.4 steals, and 1.7 blocks. He shot 46.5 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 75.5 percent from the free-throw line.
But Hibbert really found a lot of difficulties in the regular season and playoffs against Rose and the Bulls. He held a record of 8-20 against Rose in his career combined.
In those 23 games played against Rose in his career between the regular season and playoffs combined, Hibbert averaged 7.3 points per game, 5.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.4 steals, and 1.6 blocks. Meanwhile, Rose averaged 20.0 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.7 blocks. He shot 44.3 percent from the field, 34.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 83.5 percent from the free-throw line, against Hibbert.
