3. Saddiq Bey, Forward

Not only is the former Villanova Wildcats 6-foot-8 and 215 pound Maryland native forward Saddiq Bey are really solid shooter, he continuously improved his all-around game last season. Bey spent two seasons with the Villanova basketball program, and was one of their more productive players last year.

He was good enough to get All Big-East honors for the first time in his career. And he earned All Big-East Freshman Team honors last season, which capped a solid first year in college. In the season that was for Villanova, Bey averaged 16.1 points per game, 4.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.4 blocks.

Bey shot 47.7 percent from the field last season, to go along with 45.1 percent from beyond the arc and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line. That amounted to a 58.4 effective field goal percentage and 60.8 true shooting percentage. He ranked fourth in Division I in three-point shooting percentage and first in the Big East.

Moreover, Bey also ranked second in effective field goal percentage and fourth in true shooting percentage in the Big East last season.

Bey did vary up his shot selection a bit last season. His three-point attempt rate went well below 50.0 percent last season, compared to 55.0 percent during his freshman campaign. There were smarter parts of Bey’s game last season, though, with an increased free-throw attempt rate up to 24.8 percent.
