2. The punch clock

The most unnecessary move that ever happened under Boylen’s guidance as the Bulls head coach was the installation of the punch clock at the practices last year. Not much more could be done by Boylen for his players getting to practice to humiliate them and make them feel like what they were doing was completely off target than making them use a punch clock.

This move by Boylen was the quintessential move that he would make to try and instill toughness his team and completely miss out on his goal. You would also think that Boylen would’ve learned by the time the 2019-20 season started that his players would not respond well to this. Whatever he was trying to do here didn’t help much either.

What did happen after Boylen installed the punch clock at practice was an uproar on social media. His team still started out the season well below .500 while Twitter and Instagram were having a field day with his move.

According to a report from Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic when it was first made known that the Bulls had to punch into practice, the punch clock brought back good memories for when he worked at a Cadillac factory when he was 21. This was all part of his grand scheme to develop this young team and get them headed down the right road. Obviously anything but that happened in the season that was for the Bulls.
