3. Killian Hayes, Point Guard

If the Bulls want to look overseas for a potential late riser up draft boards for an answer this year, then they should look no further than the sizable and increasingly versatile 6-foot-5 French point guard Killian Hayes. Thanks to an improving outside shot, decent off-ball defense, and a pretty solid game in transition, Hayes is getting the respect he deserves on draft boards this offseason.

It’s hard to see a world where Hayes manages to rise to the point of becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. But it could happen if his stock continues to go up in the way it has of late entering the final months before the draft. If some team really buys into what he brings to the table, then Hayes could be gone pretty early off the board.

In the 10 games played for Hayes with ratiopharm Ulm overseas in France, Hayes averaged 12.8 points per game, 2.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.2 blocks. He shot 45.5 percent from the field, 39.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 90.9 percent from the free-throw line. His defense was pretty good, as was his production on offense through and through, but his overall athleticism is still in question.

Looking into the shooting percentages and solid facilitating ability, along with the frame, of Hayes is really easy to get drawn into. His physical tools and offensive efficiency could be that of a first overall pick in a draft class like this that doesn’t have a clear No. 1. But the lack of shake in his game along with the questions of the limitations to his ceiling could still keep him as a borderline top three pick this year.
