It is hard to know where the new Chicago Bulls front office personnel are going to be with their plan for the 2020 draft on lottery night.
A highly anticipated date is about to arrive for the Chicago Bulls, and some of the other bottom teams around the NBA, on Aug. 20. The 2020 NBA Draft Lottery is a little more than one week away, and the Bulls do have a somewhat realistic shot of getting into the top three, and an outside chance to get the top pick.
According to Tankathon odds for the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery, the Bulls have a 32.0 percent chance to land in the top four and a 7.5 percent chance to get the top pick. There’s also still around a 20 percent chance that the Bulls get the seventh overall pick in this draft. If that is the case, this would be the fourth straight year where the Bulls picked seventh overall.
With the last three seventh overall picks for the Bulls in the NBA Draft, they selected former Arizona Wildcats power forward Lauri Markkanen, Duke Blue Devils center Wendell Carter Jr., and North Carolina Tar Heels point guard Coby White. Maybe the Bulls can finally catch a good bit of luck and land back in the top five in the draft lottery.
This draft is a bit deeper outside of the top five at a few positions of need for the Bulls than last year’s class. The 2019 NBA Draft class was very top heavy between former Duke forward Zion Williamson and Murray State Racers point guard Ja Morant. This draft class will be more weighted down by a number of intriguing international prospects and some pretty talented guards with potential star or “quality starter” ceilings.
But what if the Bulls were to truly luck out and score the No. 1 pick in this draft for the first time since they snagged point guard Derrick Rose back in 2008?
Here’s a look into three options they could land for this draft class in the top spot.
