The Chicago Bulls all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan gave a lot of his opponents a ton of trouble, but specifically to these three players.
There weren’t just three players that the Chicago Bulls legendary shooting guard Michael Jordan dominated throughout his NBA career. Jordan dominated most of the NBA in his run with the Bulls where he won six titles, five MVP’s, and countless other accolades, awards, and records. Jordan is the greatest player in the history of the NBA by most considerations and thus he gave a lot of his opposition problems on a regular basis.
It wasn’t until the 1990’s that Jordan really took off with the Bulls and was starting to build up to the dynasty years. The first title for Jordan and the Bulls arrived when they knocked off Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1991 NBA Finals. That finals series helped to push the downfall of the “Showtime Lakers” heading into the new decade.
After knocking off the Lakers in the 1991 NBA Finals, Jordan and the Bulls would go on to win two more titles for the first of his two career three-peats. Both of the three-peats of course came in the 1990’s. The second of the two came when Jordan arrived back with the Bulls after trying his hand playing baseball for one year.
Jordan won three consecutive titles from 1996-1998, two of those occasions taking down the ultra-talented and deep Utah Jazz. But that famed team in 1997-98 that was part of “The Last Dance” would end the dominant run of Jordan and the Bulls in the 1990’s after the 1998 offseason.
Nonetheless, here’s a look back at the three opponents that had some of the most difficulties getting past Jordan during his lengthy NBA career.
