Heading into the thick of the 2020 offseason, the Chicago Bulls could soon start formulating trade ideas that realistically move the rebuild forward.

For what could be the remainder of the season’s restart in the bubble, the hottest name on the trade market of any playoff team in the Eastern Conference could be the former LSU Tigers sizable 6-foot-10 point guard Ben Simmons. The Philadelphia 76ers star floor general has run into some serious injury problems since entering the NBA as the first overall pick in the 2017 draft. While Simmons does bring some seriously unique physical tools to the table and a bevy of talent, he hasn’t meshed in his current role with the Sixers yet either. Is he a player that could blend in with the Chicago Bulls in the near future?

There’s problems that the Sixers have already run into trying to get Simmons and former Kansas Jayhawks Center Joel Embiid to mesh together in Philly. The Sixers were anticipated to be one of the two best teams in the East this season entering the 2019-20 campaign, along with the Milwaukee Bucks. But the likes of the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, etc. all wound up overtaking the Sixers in the standings.

Even the Indiana Pacers have overtaken the Sixers in the East standings at the moment.

Moreover, if the Sixers do wind up wanting to move on from Simmons after this latest lower-body injury that could keep him out for the rest of the restart/playoffs at Disney World, where would he go next?

Apparently the Bulls divisional foe Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in putting together a significant trade package for Simmons entering the offseason, if the Sixers are willing to budge. According to a report from Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cavaliers are ready to put together an “enticing” trade offer to the Sixers for Simmons.

If the Cavaliers are trying to look into Simmons, then why can’t the Bulls at least gaze at what they could do to get him?

Here’s a look into three reasons why the Bulls should at least try for a Simmons trade with Philly.
