Big news could be just around the corner if the Chicago Bulls are able to get some type of OTA’s level work in at Disney World this year.

It appears that, in some regard, the Chicago Bulls might actually be able to compete in the NBA’s restart at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. But it wouldn’t be in the capacity that fans would’ve once hoped for. The Bulls might be headed for Disney World as one of the “Delete Eight” later on this year, although not playing in any meaningful games.

According to a report from Sam Amick of The Athletic (paid content), the NBA is still working to find a plan for the bottom eight teams to get some type of practice or competition while the restart is occurring at Disney World. And the idea at this point in time could be to get the bottom eight teams to take part in some practices in Disney World while the top 22 are trying to jostle for playoff spots.

There is no concrete plan yet to get the Delete Eight some type of practice or competition, but Disney World OTA’s might be the idea with the most traction since this particular discussion started. The Bulls would be one of six teams in the Eastern Conference that would be taking part in some type of OTA’s at Disney World, in the midst of the season’s restart for the top 22 teams, if this idea takes flight.

This would also be good news for the younger and more potent Bulls players that need the extra work before the start of the 2020-21 season. The Bulls are still trying to build up this young core in heading into what will now be the fourth year of the rebuild.

The likes of point guard Coby White, power forward Lauri Markkanen, center Wendell Carter Jr., and power forward/center Daniel Gafford, among others, could really benefit from some type of team practice with other teams around. The Bulls are hoping to work their way into the playoff picture next year, and this would definitely help out.

Next. 3 players the Bulls should keep building around. dark

The Bulls finished up the 2019-20 season with a record of 22-43 through their first 65 games prior to the novel coronavirus pandemic mandated hiatus back in mid-March. They’ll need to get off to a stronger start next season than they did in this past one to work their way up the standings in the East.
