During his run with the Chicago Bulls, legendary shooting guard Michael Jordan did have a few opposing players that gave him problems.

Throughout his legendary career in the NBA, the Chicago Bulls all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan was mostly a dominant force against his opposition in almost any situation. But there were a handful of opposing players and teams that had Jordan’s number at different points of his legendary NBA career.

The Bulls got the best years of out Jordan’s career in the 1990’s, when they were winning titles more often than not while the Hall-of-Fame shooting guard was actually playing basketball. Jordan and the Bulls were mostly on the up and up during the early years of his career, in the 1980’s. As the Bulls were attempting to build around Jordan, with ultra-talented teammates like Hall-of-Fame forward Scottie Pippen and star big man Horace Grant, they were not at the top of their game yet in the Eastern Conference.

By the end of his NBA career, Jordan rounded up with 14 NBA All-Star selections, 10 scoring titles, six titles, five MVP’s, and 11 All-NBA Team honors, among a ton of other accolades. There were likely a few road blocks for Jordan along the way that kept the Bulls from getting even more titles during his run in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Opposition in the 1980’s like the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics definitely held Jordan and the Bulls back. In the 1990’s, the New York Knicks did get the best of the Bulls in the one year when Jordan was trying his hand at baseball. And the fact that ownership/management didn’t bring the likes of Jordan and Pippen heading into the 1998-99 season kept them from winning a seventh title in the 1990’s.

But here’s a look back at the three peskiest and most difficult opponents for Jordan during his run with the Bulls.
