The Chicago Bulls have a few players that they could continue to build around heading into the 2020-21 season that should be around for a while.

There’s not much that the Chicago Bulls can be proud of heading into the thick of their 2020 offseason. They finished up the 2019-20 regular season, prior to the novel coronavirus pandemic-induced season hiatus with a record of 22-43. The Bulls were well outside of the playoff picture once the season was placed on pause back in mid-March.

Given that, they were not included in the NBA’s 22-team restart plan held at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. With games going on for just over a week now at Disney World with former Bulls stars like small forward Jimmy Butler (now with the Miami Heat) and center Joakim Noah (now with the Los Angeles Clippers) competing for their new teams, fans in the Windy City are left wondering what’s ahead for their squad.

But there are pieces left on the current Bulls roster that deserve some notoriety as those who should be around for a while. The likes of power forward Lauri Markkanen, center Wendell Carter Jr., rookie big man Daniel Gafford, rookie point guard Coby White, and shooting guard Zach LaVine, among others, could still provide for a bright future if they upgrade the roster around them starting next season.

There’s a long way the Bulls have to go to get back to the point of contention in the Eastern Conference they were at with stars like Butler and former MVP point guard Derrick Rose were leading the way. It’s not an insurmountable goal to get there, though.

Here’s a look into the three most important players for the Bulls to continue building around starting this offseason.
