1. Oklahoma City Thunder
Unlike the other two teams on this list that are ranked out as far as potential landing spots and trade partners go for Carter Jr. and the Bulls, the Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t built fully around a young sensation at this point in time. The Thunder are built mainly around the veteran star point guard Chris Paul right now.
But just like the Pelicans and Grizzlies, there are a number of players on the current Thunder roster that the Bulls might be interested in that could benefit them in the immediate future. The Thunder aren’t getting to let go of someone like young standout guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or small forward Darius Bazley, but there are other pieces that they could part ways with.
Players like veteran center Steven Adams, CP3, and point guard Dennis Schroder, could all be on the move in the near future. Adams might not make a whole lot of sense for the Bulls, unless they were able to dump some salary of their own with the likes of small forward Otto Porter Jr. and/or big man Cristiano Felicio, but CP3 and Schroder could be made a case for.
WCJ would be a nice fit for the Thunder if and when they move on from Adams. Even if WCJ could develop under or alongside Adams in OKC, they would be able to mesh together nicely. The combination of SGA and WCJ would be good for the Thunder to build around once they’re ready to move on from CP3 and Adams too.
