If the perfect opportunity presents itself, the Chicago Bulls should at least here out what other teams have to offer for shooting guard Zach LaVine.

One of the hottest rumors to hit the Chicago Bulls of late is the report from Ian Begley of SNY from late last week that said that rising star 25-year-old 6-foot-6 former UCLA Bruins shooting guard Zach LaVine was getting interest from the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks. Most of this piece from Begley of SNY is purely speculation and focuses on the hypotheticals as to how LaVine could either land with the Knicks or Nets.

But the fact that teams like the Knicks and Nets were doing their homework on LaVine did set off the Bulls portion of the NBA social media-sphere within the last few days. This really isn’t anything concrete to show why the Bulls are going to, or are even interested in, sending LaVine out of the Windy City this offseason.

In fact, a couple of weeks ago, former Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas was found in IG Live shooting around with LaVine. He even quoted at one point in this Instagram post that he thinks that “playing in Chi with Zach would be cold.”

At this point in time, LaVine is likely the best player on the Bulls roster. He had a stellar 2019-20 season prior to the novel coronavirus pandemic-induced hiatus. LaVine played in 60 games in the season that was for the Bulls (starting in all of them). He averaged 25.5 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks. All that came while he shot 45.0 percent from the field, 38.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 80.2 percent from the free-throw line.

But there is a possible counter to the argument that the Bulls shouldn’t trade LaVine. Since there’s a number of reasons to list why the Bulls shouldn’t trade LaVine at the moment, it could be significant to note why the front office would actually consider this move.

Here’s a look at the side of the argument that provides some reasons why the Bulls should trade LaVine in the near future.
