The Chicago Bulls started their franchise in a very good manner by having two stars in Bob Love and Jerry Sloan, starting what would be an iconic franchise.
The Chicago Bulls have retired the numbers of both Jerry Sloan and Bob Love but to the average Bulls fan the legend of these two men is not known well. They both obviously were very good players since they’re both in the rafters, but to Bulls fans the duo of Love and Sloan will never be appreciated to its fullest.
When a person thinks about Chicago basketball, they immediately think of one man, Kyle Korver. Just kidding. Anytime anyone mentions the Bulls thrilling images of Michael Jordan dunking and scoring course through the minds of multiple generations.
Jordan spawned a whole new fan base for his lackluster franchise and made a name for himself that will last forever in Chicago. The franchise will forever be in his glory and that will likely never change.
However, Jordan came to the Bulls in 1984, a full 18 seasons after the inception of the team. For a franchise to last that long is impressive, as many teams have festered out of the league quicker than that.
When looking at the Bulls records in between the 1975 season and Jordan’s rookie campaign one might wonder if they ever had stars bring in the big bucks like Jordan did.
While nobody has ever been able to do what Jordan did, an early duo in the franchise’s history paved the way for what would end up being an iconic franchise. As mentioned before, those men are Bob Love and Jerry Sloan. These are there stories and how they effected Chicago.
