Former Chicago Bulls legend and Hall-of-Fame forward Scottie Pippen has an increasingly popular take on the Los Angeles Lakers star dynamic.

Two of the teams to watch for any Chicago Bulls fans once the NBA season restarts later this month at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL, specifically on July 30, are the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks are sporting a solid team behind the reigning NBA MVP and Greek forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who might be looking at taking the honors back to the Cream City in back-to-back seasons.

Giannis is pretty clearly the front runner to win the MVP honors again this season.

But there are some dark horse contenders in store for the MVP honors in the Lakers camp with veteran superstar forward LeBron James and fellow superstar big man Anthony Davis. LeBron and AD pushed the Lakers to the best record in the Western Conference heading into the season’s restart (currently sitting with 49 wins).

Moreover, there are varying opinions that exists for how this Lakers team dynamic will help push them toward contending for the title this year. Former Bulls legendary forward Scottie Pippen recently opened up on the ESPN morning show “Get Up” with his take on how the Lakers dynamic between LeBron and AD should work the rest of the way.

Pippen thinks that LeBron should be the one taking a backseat to AD by now since the younger of the two superstars could be the more productive for the rest of the season (and from here on out). Here’s more on what Pippen had to say on this matter (monologue thanks to Essentially Sports).

"We all realize that LeBron James has played for the last 20 years pretty much and that he’s not gonna be the guy that carries the Los Angeles Laker team. If the Lakers are going to go anywhere this season, I think offensively the weight has to be on AD. I think defensively he has to be the anchor for them on that end as well."

This is an interesting take that will be worth following for the rest of the season. The Lakers are a sure thing to be a high seed in the playoffs in the West portion of the bracket. But they will have to deal with the likes of the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, etc. come playoff time.

The Bulls finished up the 2019-20 season prior to the hiatus back in mid-March with a record of 22-43. They are currently heading into the fourth year of the rebuild in the midst of the 2020 offseason.
