Outside of former NBA MVP Derrick Rose, the Chicago Bulls generally had a rough run at trying to find their future at point guard during the last decade.

Throughout the 2010’s, the most crucial position for the Chicago Bulls managed to be at point guard. Whether it was the former MVP winner and Bulls superstar floor general Derrick Rose, or the former first round pick of the Oklahoma City Thunder Cameron Payne, this team got very mixed results from the one in the starting five over the previous decade.

The 2010’s started out on the right foot for the Bulls at the point guard position with D-Rose winning the NBA MVP honors for the 2010-11 season. He would have a few All-Star selections in the 2010’s, but knee injuries would wind up taking hold of his career in the Windy City.

Once the Bulls started to move on from D-Rose, there was a true revolving door of point guards. Once the Bulls moved on from D-Rose officially during the 2016 offseason, they elected to find a new direction with former Boston Celtics star and current Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo.

Since that point, the Bulls have tried around an average of three different starting point guards per season. Last year, it was the trio of Kris Dunn, Ryan Arcidiacono, and Shaquille Harrison, that each got at least a double-digit number of starts at the point guard position for the Bulls. Even the microwave scoring Chicago native Walt Lemon Jr. got three starts with the Bulls last season.

Hopefully the Bulls have found more stability entering the new decade at point guard, with combo guard Tomas Satoransky as the veteran and 6-foot-5 rookie point guard Coby White as the potential future at the position. White showed a lot of promise in the month and a half prior to the novel coronavirus-induced season hiatus.

With that in mind, here’s a look back at what the Bulls can learn from the three least efficient point guard of the last decade on this team.
